THANK YOU!

HERE AT CAMP MAC, WE KNOW SUMMER CAMP IS A GREAT EXPERIENCE FOR YOUR CHILDREN… But we also know what a big decision it is for you. We’d love to talk to you on the phone – or better yet – meet you for a tour of camp. Give us a call 256.362.7449.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN OUR CAMP!

We are excited to hear from you and will be in touch soon! In the meantime, we’ve answered three of our most asked questions…you just may be wondering yourself!

Why longer terms?

At Camp Mac, we believe that good things take time. Our sessions are longer because there’s no way we could ever get everything done in a week or less! Even in a fast food, disposable, get it here yesterday world – we know that the things that mean the most to us are the things we’ve worked the longest and hardest for. Our Senior terms are not simply back to back Junior terms, but rather consist of a carefully planned progression in which campers participate in a wide variety of activities and move from one skill level to the next – day-to-day, week-to-week and year-to-year.

Younger kids come to the Junior Term to have fun and find out what camp is like. Older kids stay longer in the Senior Term so they can have the time to learn to do new things, make friends, make their own decisions, and gain the independence and self-confidence they’ll need to go off to college one day and then out into a happy and successful life of their own.

Why boys and girls?

Although boys and girls have always attended Camp Mac at the same time, instructional activities are conducted in single-sex classes. Boys and girls are given the opportunity to mix with each other within their own age groups during evening recreation and other non-instructional times of day. This unique structure provides an instructional program like that of an all-boys or all-girls camp, while allowing brothers and sisters to attend camp together. It also gives boys and girls the opportunity to live in the same community – just as they will for the rest of their lives.

Why summer camp?

Of course, to us, it is an easy question to answer. But we understand that to those that didn’t do summer camp when they were young it isn’t as easy to answer. And, with all there is to do during the summer for families and kids it is a hard decision to make. Especially with summers being shorter now.

As one insurance company’s commercials say, “We know a thing or two because we’ve seen a thing or two…” For over 7 decades we have done Summer Camp and we have enjoyed generations of families spending their summers with us!

Give us a call and we will try to help you answer this question. We believe summer camp is great for kids and we know it is a big decision for you to make. We would love to talk to you about it anytime!
